13 miles
I hit the 13-mile mark today for my marathon training, which means if I can run another 13, I’ve done the full marathon.
This is really happening, and it’s an amazing feeling.
Too bad my legs are pretty much broken from today’s run, so I’ll be recuperating the next few days

jinsei asked: hi Diana! I just want to say thanks for your "oonce" playlist. When I was driving on a recent road trip, it was a major factor in helping me stay awake. So technically, you saved my life!

“I don’t have time to read.”
When I tell people about my blog, that’s one of the comments I usually hear in response. The implication—or at least the way my possibly oversensitive mind takes it—“You must not have any life to read that many books … loser.”
Of course, I exaggerate. But,…
I used to read all the time and check out books at the library like crazy. What...
First Official Day of Marathon Training!
I ran for the first time in over 2 months and it felt wonderful! After finishing my 2-month Insanity program last week, it was nice to do something different and break free from my routine. I ran ~3 miles with Nghiem today and have more 3-mile runs lined up this week. And on Saturday is the big 6-miler…!
Let’s do thisssss!

A wise owl once told me
“If someone wants to be a part of your life, they’ll make an effort to be in it. So don’t bother reserving a space in your heart for someone who doesn’t make an effort to stay.”
A sound piece of advice, but unfortunately much easier said than done.
If we listened to our intellect we’d never have a love affair. We’d never have a...

Why I Love This Week
A laundry list of my plans for the week, because I am THAT excited and needed to share!
Monday: Today I had dinner with Peter, who I haven’t seen in so long! Trang was supposed to come, but she became stranded when she accidentally locked her keys in her car. Sounds like something I would do! We enjoyed some good food and good conversation and finally got to catch up. This guy is going to...

Steve Jobs revolutionized the way we communicate and interact with people around us. His death today was a great loss and he will never be forgotten for what he has done for the world.

Exhausted, physically and mentally. But I can’t fall asleep. I feel restless.
I’m thinking so much about the future and feeling overwhelmed with both excitement and anxiety. November is coming up, and it’s going to one crazy month. Finally, I get to see my family for Thanksgiving weekend, and then I have interviews the week afterward. I want to be as well prepared as possible,...

– I recently reblogged a Maya Angelou quote from thinkmoregood, and today I came across the quote in its entirety. Turns out Angelou said this during an interview on her 70th birthday with Oprah, in which she was asked what she thought of growing older. I can’t imagine a better answer.
